One summer evening Sherlock Holmes and his friend Dr. Watson went camping. They put up their tent, ate one or two sandwiches, drank a bottle of wine and after some conversation each of them got into his sleeping bag and tried to get some sleep.
Some hours later, Holmes woke up and decided to tell Watson something important. He touched his friend´s arm and said, "My dear Watson, look up and tell me what you can see."
"I can se thousands and thousands of stars," said Watson.
Holmes looked at his friend and asked him a question, "And what does that mean?"
Holmes looked at his friend and asked him a question, "And what does that mean?"
The doctor thought for a moment and then answered, "First: astronomically, it means that there are thousands and thousands of galaxies and probably millions of planets.
Second: astrologically, I can see that Saturn is in Leo and so I´m sure that we´re going to have a lucky day.
Third: in terms of time and according to the position of the Pole Star I can see that it´s about 3:15 a.m.
Fourth: in religious terms, I can see that there is a God, the Almighty God, and right now I feel small and insignificant.
Fifth: in meteorological terms, I can see that we´re going to have a lovely sunny day. Am I correct?"
For a moment Holmes remained in silence, but then he smiled and said, "Watson, you fool! All it means is that someone stole our tent!"
Moral: Life is quite simple. We are the ones who make it complicated.
